January 23-24 Clipper
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:49:11 PM »
Never started a topic before so if anyone wants to change anything that is perfectly fine.  I am just noticing the radar returns up in Missouri and Nebraska and know that is heading our way.  Could this end up being more than expected?  There is some heavy precip and looks to move right over our area.  What do you all think?

It should break up a good bit before it gets to us. I think OHX mentioned the possibility of up to an inch.

Maybe a dusting for points south of the great I-40 divide with maybe around an inch north of I40

Yea Scot, like Mundie said OHX mentioned it losing its punch as it moves to our area; however, you bring up a good point...if it was to hold together, might give a little more than projected; however, I am thinking an inch in our area is the most they are expecting us to see.

Glad you started a new thread though because.....you never know! :)

So anyone else notice the radar returns seem to be expanding and strengthening out to our west?  I don't know why but I am starting to expect a surprise from it and not much from the "BIG" system.

You also have to remember most of us, at least those of us in southern Tennessee are sitting in the mid 40's right now. We will need to start dropping now and drop rather quickly to see snowfall.

We still have a heck of a dry layer to deal with tonight though... Temps may be an issue still
Born in D.C I survived 1993 and 1996 snowstorms, and have been fascinated ever since.

True but like with the big dog its not so much the surface dew point as it is at certain levels of the atmosphere.
