Hence my disclaimer about the E-Wall.....kinda hard to pick out details when all you get is 24-hour increments.   And, yes, .37 of qpf is un-blah.
The 0Z was drier though. Not going to dig it up now, on to the 12Z!
Snow in the South is wonderful. It has a kind of magic and mystery that it has nowhere else. And the reason for this is that it comes to people in the South not as the grim, unyielding tenant of Winter's keep, but as a strange and wild visitor from the secret North. -THOMAS WOLFE

Remember though... the '93 Superstorm was no better than one of those shih tzu pups in your picture for the immediate Nashville area. ;)

If current trends continue....not well.  This should be a Miller A-type storm that rides the coast.  Areas along/south of I-40 and east of I-65 should benefit from this one.

Excuse me for asking but I thought Miller A was the type of storm that ran up the coast, where Miller b's ran more inland and were better for west and middle tenn vs. miller A's. Just asking.

The big dog? The big dog layed down a 3/4 inch snow for clarksville. This system today will smash that record surely. I'm going to take a show me type attitude on a southern type scenario storm for my area, lately we just get our feeling hurt when it comes to these big boy storms. We are clipper king in NW middle tenessee. ::candle:: ::shrug::

Don't get down.  I remember several times that Clarksville and Paris were getting winter weather but the rest of middle and east TN were looking on while sitting in the rain.

If this storm outdoes the big dog we will be within spitting distance of our seasonal snowfall record of 26 inches. And January isn't even over yet.
EDIT: and I will be in school until July. Lol.

Joe Bastardi is comparing this storm to 93  :D

Based on what?

The '93 storm was not a southern slider...not even close.  It was a gulf low but the track was highly amplified and just happened to smack a swath of the south with heavy snow from the Florida panhandle through much of Alabama, northern Georgia, eastern Tennessee, and western NC with heavy snow...but the overall track was very much south to north.

And, if you look at the JMA model, it does not depict anything close to the '93 superstorm setup.

For those that think East tn has been a snowy wonderland this year....it has not (For me at least)..

If you were in the northern third of the state for the last big dog then you likely missed out.  I think I got an inch and half before the northwest flow/clipper activity bumped me up to 2.5 over the course of 36 hours.  It's been nickle and dime here too.  Not enough snow to enjoy but enough to cause minor problems and school closings.  I would much rather have 1 big 10 inch snow then five 2 inchers...

It's been fun but I am snow deprived
