I see what you are talking about but I wouldn't think that would be any meteor...that's a loop over a couple of hours...what unfolded here happened within seconds or minutes at the most.

Reports now from CBS in Little Rock say Meteor hit somewhere in Oklahoma...though no OK media is reporting that so I have no reason to believe a station in Little Rock has better authority of what is going on in OK...doubt that report is accurate either.

Be looking forward to an upcoming episode of Meteorite Men on the Science Channel.  They probably chased this thing through the atmosphere...those that have seen the show, know what I mean.    ::guitar::

POTEAU, OK. (KTHV) -- Quite a stir across the state tonight, lots of folks saw a big ball of fire streaking across the sky.

The Sebastian County Sheriff's Office says it was a meteor and likely hit near Poteau Mountain, Oklahoma.

We contacted amateur astronomer Steven Meeks who writes an astronomy blog on todaysthv.com, he says it was likely a meteor and since some people saw it burn a bit greenish -- it probably contained copper.

He also says it was probably no bigger than a pebble. According to affiliate KFSM, the meteor was also sighted in Greenwood, Jonesboro, Jackson, Miss., Biloxi, Miss., and the Florida Panhandle.

Story out of Oklahoma

Yeah that is what I was just mentioning. That came out of Little Rock and they are the only media to report that. Not anybody in Oklahoma. Just don't think thats accurate either

Here's a link  from KATC-TV in Acadiana Louisiana,.   It includes a eyewitness account from native Tennessean Hoyt Harris, KATC-TV's veteran newscaster:
