Brains and beauty...good combo. Nice to see WKRN going more nation wide for hires. Davis went to Florida State, Justin went to Penn State, and Allison went to Ohio State. I see many people in this business who went to Miss. State's broadcast path. That is why I am thinking of minoring in broadcasting or communications, to help strengthen the resume and battle these MSU students who are coming out with their broadcasting meteorology degrees.
Yes, that will be a major plus. So many people go and major in Meteorology because thats what they want to study and have an interest in but at the same time I know a lot of them who get out find it very hard to get a job because they have no broadcast practice so there on air delivery is hard to get through because its not a normal conversation on air. Thats why I am so thankful to have the opportunity I have of getting good on air experience while studying at the same time.
Same here, being on the WKU Storm Team it gives me valuable on air practice and, also, they offer classes w/ credit. For instance this next semester I will be taking a broadcasting weather graphics course. Also, they will help me put a montage together so when it does come graduation time I will already have my resume tape made out.Our team also does wall-to-wall coverage that broadcasts over the WKYU station on campus as well as the typical news cast they do at 6 on Thursdays.
Charles, you need to post some of your stuff on youtube like AMS used to
Thats awesome! Btw I just watched a story on WKU and just voted for you guys to win the new news set!
