What are we putting this on the wind or the spray?  I am just wondering if it is something we should have to worry about while ice is still on the trees even though the accumulations are largely over with.
Maybe wind now...the spray is mostly done with here at least. Wind will remain a problem and even just the stress alone (w/o the wind) could give on some of these lines at any time...

Is the wind expected to pickup after the ULL comes through?  It seems rather calm atm and it was suppose to be somewhat gusty I thought.

Its calmer at times...but the obs still show 10-15 mph sustained...occasional gusts over 20 mph. That's enough...

Yeah its doing it here too with a few small snow flakes mixed in.  Curious... I wonder if the ULL isn't weakening but just losing reflectivity due to whatever is around Memphis that is preventing snow formation.

Very light snow here too.  Ya'll are probably doing better in Shelby county though.
Winds have picked up a bit here too as well.

Still have freezing Rain - since around 6PM.  Ice all over my deck covering the snow.  Ice coating everything. I hate to see what our roads are like now... Surely this will change to snow or stop soon... ICE is not fun...Glad I can stay home tomorrow....

That’s what troubles me. This notion that we have to take sides in this country now, you’re either with us or against us, Republican or Democrat, red state or blue state. No one looks at an issue and struggles over the right position to take anymore. And yet, our ability to reason is what makes us human. Lately, we seem so willing to forfeit that gift of reason in exchange for the good feeling of belonging to a group. We all just take the position of our team.”

Yup can confirm its all snow now, albeit light. Its really gettin' blown sideways in the lights which makes for a kind of "blizzard-like" feel. What a day overall which did not yield my 10 inches, but considering the ZR in south Shelby and Desoto, fared pretty well. With the ice and snowcover, clear skies tomorrow night should make for some great radiational cooling. Memory serving me correctly, the ice from Dec '04 was pretty hard to get off the streets, even with sun. If Sunday isnt warm, I could see Shelby letting out for schools.

Fell asleep before the changeover but appears we did get a bit of snow (1/2" or less) on top of the ice...which has made roads that much more treacherous. Fortunately...never lost power...and MLGW remains on the job w/outages down to 6,000 after peaking near 25,000. Still winds are going to be near 10 mph much of the day...there probably remains some risk of a few falling limbs and lines...have to watch out. Beautiful scene overall...will grab the camera and get some pics shortly

This is going to be a weekend to stay indoors if at all possible. This stuff is going nowhere until Monday...
