Above freezing temps today...They probably won't play a big factor, but the snow would make a slightly better impact to come in after sunset and when the temp drops below 32.
Yea your right sorry, i was losing my mind for a second. ;D
AND A LOT CAN CHANGE BETWEEN NOW AND THEN.

Snow is already knocking on Bowling Green's door. Expecting it at the TN/KY line by 4 pm. Getting here a little sooner then forecasted...

LMK has updated the zone forecast areas and have increased Scottsville's chances to 50 and 40%.

Most snow should be out of the SCK region by 8 pm.

I guess that a dusting to an inch is possible for a general amount. Considering that its not supposed to get above freezing tommorrow, under mostly cloudy skies, and with any remaining ice on back roads (which by talking to people, there is); I believe under these conditions, this will replenish some of my snow that has melted from sun and temps.

I am tracking a snow Squall Line here...haha

Are we for sure that it's reaching the ground or if it's even frozen?  Surface obs out of south central KY reveal overcast skies with surface temps between 35-38F and 25-30F Tds.  I guess there could be a little evap. cooling with the heavier pockets of precip.... ::shrug:: .

EDIT:  While perusing old AFDs, I found one from Louisville and found this nugget:
Quote
...WHILE
LOW-LEVEL AIR NEAR THE SURFACE IS ABOVE FREEZING...THERE IS ENOUGH
COLD AIR ALOFT TO KEEP THE PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LINE
AS SNOW....

I guess this is one of those rare instances where the surface is above freezing and some folks get snow.

report from earlier from someone in west Ky:

The heaviest snow of the winter in Owensboro, Kentucky is occuring as i speak(2:08cst), and has been falling for about 30-45 minutes now. Already got about a half inch of snow already, the roads are turning white again. Luckily its just a narrow band of snow, if not, there would have been some significant accumulations if this would have set in for 3 hours.

We have a temp. of 35.3F with a DP at 21.5. So I assume we will see some evaporation cooling and it should drop us below freezing.
