Alas, it stays safely suppressed through the next seven days.

There's some serious QPF brewing in the central Gulf at 192 though.

Some of the oil platforms a few miles off the Gulf coast might get a few inches.   ::rofl::

I believe the run is about to show something interesting out beyond 10 days.

Meaningless... but interesting.  ::evillaugh::

One of these days one of these 10 day storms will actually pan out.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the forum. Looks like we have interesting weather for sure in the next week or 2 here in Tennessee. Sounds crazy but I really hope the temps moderate some where the highs are in the upper 30's with dew points in the upper 20's. In this scenario this would be the best chance for any meaningful snowfall in Tennessee. Too much cold and dry will drive our beloved snow to areas around Macon, GA. and points south. We can't have that now can we?
Still in limbo with Allstate regarding my structural damage from 4/27

Love the light snow in Tampa and Orlando, with a mix nearing Miami.  :)

I think this highly amplified pattern is going to need to flatten out a bit to get something going other than nuicance clipper flurries. History shows that this is certainly possible. Quite frankly, I  would love to get something after days of freezing temps. At least we know it would stick! (or lay as I used to hear when living in E TN.)

Welcome Brick! Anchorman is a great movie, and yes, we cannot have Macon GA (or Tampa or Orlando) getting our share of the wintry stuff.

The undependable long range beyond 10 days hints at just that.

Hopefully, it's not totally out to lunch.

Muah ha ha ha ha!

I think that's the most entertaining look we've seen on the GFS so far.

I think this is more believable now than if we had a week of 40's and 50's beforehand, but I am not counting my chickens.

It doesn't have to be in the 30's to get a good snow I remember in 1988 we got 8 inches with a hi of 23 and a low of 18. I was in high school and have a detailed record of it, and it also laid for a while.

All this booo hooing over the bitter cold.

Look at the 77 winter bitter cold with much snow.

At least we are not seeing long term trends to torch. I think the take home is that the overall pattern looks good long term. Waiting on the right combo seems inevtiable to me in January, which climo says is best for snow in TN anyways.

One thing about this season so far (knock on wood), there hasn't been much discussion of blowtorching.
