Kevin I as well want to see the QPF maps. I wonder what the SD is for 510 heights over us!
Just an incredible run. Who knows if it will ever verify...but that would be a very rare (and needless to say extremely cold) pattern over the SE...
Well at least now we will have the cold if a storm moves in, then we won't have to worry about it, the only thing we will have to worry about is the moisture.
STILL LOOKS LIKE THERE MAY BE A BRIEF SNOW EVENT THURSDAY NIGHTAND FRIDAY, ESPECIALLY DURING THE 06Z-18Z PERIOD ON FRIDAY. EXPECTSOME ACCUMULATIONS ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU, WITH A POSSIBLEDUSTING IN AREAS BETWEEN I-65 AND THE PLATEAU. STILL LOOKS LIKE WEMAY BE LOOKING AT A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF SNOW (I.E., PERHAPS 1-3INCHES) TO WARRANT A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ALONG THE PLATEAU, SODON`T BE SURPRISED IF ONE GETS HOISTED LATER THIS WEEK. SINCE THISEVENT WILL BE COMING IN ON NEW YEARS EVE AND NEW YEARS DAY, FOLKSSHOULD KEEP THIS IN MIND IF THEY PLAN BEING OUT ON THE ROAD DURINGTHAT TIME PERIOD (ESPECIALLY ALONG THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU).
Its up to 42/25 in Memphis now...and the thicker cloud deck should be arriving just after sunset. Can't envision any problems locally with winter weather...perhaps a few sleet pellets at the onset...even if an earlier timing verifies (not that I was thinking there could be much if anything in the metro).Could be a different story across Northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel as temperatures are rising just barely above freezing. Southeast winds and WAA overnight will probably keep temperatures nearly steady...but its close enough that there could be a period of small snow/sleet/freezing rain accumulations that might warrant a brief winter weather advisory for the morning rush hour.
ahh love KMEM who is warnmer than everybody else in the area! I am at 37 right now.
