precip moving in much quicker, and appears to be more intense.

Wet bulb in Nashville metro will drop us down to 28, at least temporarily.

Hoping to wake up to a little surprise. I think we're due for a huge bust in the good direction. (not forecasting here, just hoping)

Returns showing up across West TN.  But, I suspect, much of that is virga, other than what you all are seeing around Memphis.

No precip is not making a dent. I am stuck at 33.0 at the moment.

ps I get my Davis Vantage Vue tomorrow, so hopefully I can read from it from then on.

NWS changed my forecast from 50% chance snow/rain thursday night, 40% snow friday, and 20% chance snow friday night.....to ALL RAIN

LOL. They changed our forecast for Friday to rain as well. I'll never understand the logic behind such conservative forecasts from some of the MRX mets. Doesn't really matter, since we aren't going to see much (if any) precip either way, but I hardly see us changing to snow Friday morning then changing back to rain with surface temps falling through the 20s and 850mb temps remaining steady in the low-to-mid 20s.

Still a 50% chance of rain/snow Thursday night transitioning to all snow and then we have a 20% chance New Years day.

For some reason our town salted the roads last night... , I guess if you have it you might as well use it.

Saw a flake or two while deer hunting early this morning here in Marshall county.  It was sleeting when I came in just a little while ago, has stopped now.

The forecast I hate this most are those that repeatedly say" Snow in the morning, rain in the afternoon, and a chance of rain-snow in the evening". Experience tells me once it changes (if it changes),the precip type (usually rain) is your lot for the rest of the period.

The 6z and 12z NAM have trended a good ways north with that Gulf moisture on Friday. Granted, it still hasn't made it to Atlanta. And there isn't much time left for it to trend further north. And the GFS isn't even in the same ballpark. But I figured I would mention it anyway.

Guess it's gonna be the same as last winter, with lots of cold Arctic air that will go to waste with no moisture to accompany it.   

But, not to worry ... the moisture will roll back in just as the cold air is retreating.   

Guess we're just snakebit here in middle TN.  We just can't win. 

12z GFS looking really sad.  Nothing promising even out into voodoo land.  BORING !

The GFS always looks sad to me even when its showing snow for middle tn because its always 10 or 15 days out I'm glad its not showing anything now maybe we can get something to happen.  As far as just like last winter I was thinking the same thing but I'm not giving up hope until the end of Feb after that bring on spring!
