Some photos I just received. These were taken by a THP trooper at the Scott-Campbell county line on Hwy. 63. I-75 has been closed at Caryville Mountain north of Knoxville and 63 is about to be closed, which is very unusual.

Here in Oneida, just 20 miles away, we are seeing nothing but rain. Most unusual.

Those are amazing pics! I hope the changeover holds off for a couple of hours until I get out of Nashville and head back up to the Highlands of Putnam County. Then it can snow like crazy!  ::fingerscrossed::

Man Knoxville and the valley sure is stuck at upper 30's and raining. I remember being surrounded by snow from all directions when living there a few years ago. It sure better change there soon to verify the forecast.

real shame we wasted this. nearly 2 inches of rain here with some minor flooding. that would have been 20 inches of snow if we were a bit colder. good luck and be safe those of you who see snow!

We had a projected high of 43° in Cookeville and managed 41.1° at 10:20 am, but it has fallen ever since...now seeing 37° at 4:29 pm and expect to slide down another 6 or so degrees by morning.

Could be a real pretty landscape by morning. A friend who has an office east of Monterey on the Plateau reported big, fat snowflakes at his office at lunch!

Bring on the snow!

It has wound down here in Oneida, with less than an inch. Radar should be filling in nicely from the west as we go through the night, though.  ::guitar::

My dad drove from Kingsport to Greenville SC today, through the heart of the heaviest accumulations. He barely made it, but he said that if he had been 10-20 minutes later leaving that he probably would've gotten stuck somewhere in Asheville. He took some pics, I will be sure to upload them once he emails them to me. I think all of the Western NC interstates are closed now.

I think pretty much points westward of the WWA probably won't receive too much much. Individual locations across middle Tn, especially around I-65 and east might see varying amounts or bands depending on thier temp and snowfall rate, but overall we(folks west of the WWA) should'nt see much over an inch. At least according to what I've seen from the NWS. Now whether or not something could change a little is still a possibility. Furthermore it appears the more south west of the main action a location is: the less of a chance they stand at getting a good snowfall. Bottom line is this isn't "The Big One for middle Tn.

Specifically for Lawrenceburg I see little to no accumulation according to the NWS forecast over the next day and a half.

Was able to provide Justin Bruce @ Channel 2 in Nashville with a last-minute report on weather conditions here in Cookeville for the 10 o'clock news. Kind of funny to watch the weather segment and hear him repeat word-for-word what I gave him! :)

Did anyone in the central valley get "up to 5 inches" as predicted last night by MRX? Looks like a major bust there to me as cams in the K-town area look barren. Elevation made all of the difference in ETN yesterday.
