ok what if we wet bulb tonight below freezing could it snow? and could we get like a dusting in grassy areas again?

There most likely will not be anything in the form of snow tonight. 850mb temp are actually too warm as are temps directly above 850mb. At the moment there is really dry air between 800mb and 950mb so that is why we see a lower dewpoint and evap cooling would take place as precip falls through the layer. Snow growth region is not cold enough so we are going to see a IP/ZR sig.

so could see like a glazing of ice on the grass and trees or not enough precip. to see that?

The GFS is looking interesting around 120 hrs. It has been a while since we've had a sleet storm . . . . .
Winter 2009-10 Snowfall: 11.5 in. :)
Winter 2010-11 Snowfall: 15.5 in. :)
Winter 2011-12:
1/12      Dusting

You know what cool about this is that diurnal heating probably won't be a problem. NWS already has a 30% chance of snow in my area and we're 5 days out.  ::fingerscrossed:: Nothing to jump up and down by any means yet, but I certainly think this will be the next system to keep close watch on.
