Got a decent flizzard/flurry shower moving through Brentwood now.  I can actually see the precip shafts coming down from the clouds.  Wouldn't be surprised if some areas picked up a quick dusting.

We had a heavy burst of snow for about 20 minutes around 11:30 AM here in Hermitage. It was blowing everywhere! BTW, we're getting flurries again.

We have a dusting on the ground in Cave City Ky.. It has been coming down, and mixing with graple. (sp?) The roads are now covered, and traffic is moving slowly out on the main hwy.

While thinking about the possible winter storm later in the week, I wondered what has happened to the "Texas Pan-handle Lows" we used to look for for a good snow when I was a kid in the 80's. It seems they have almost went the way of the dodo. This incoming storm is kind of like that - just a little further south.

Vandy,

Glad you mentioned this weekend.

0z GFS had a really healthy looking cold core low system, and subsequent runs have had some borderline events in that same time period. Euro picking up on something as well.

Will be interesting to watch, but honestly, I'm exausted from a week of model watching. If something happens next weekend, I certainly wont be tracking it, until at least wednesday night.

yeah i have noticed that myself. yeah i am so exhausted from the same thing it isnt funny. 3 hours of sleep a nite for the last week or so catches up with you, but it was well worth it for me. nearly 9 inches of snow for me. kind of miss it now, bored already. bring this baby home too. i am ready for another one.

If you ask me I see a great scenario the GFS is trying to develop around 168hrs. Got high pressure bombing out of Canada, a low sliding into the a gulf from southern TX, and continues to develop around 180 pumping moisture up to the north as it skirts along the gulf. Then the GFS gets stoned out of its mind at 192(resolution becomes all wacky), so it's hard to tell what's gonna happen from then on.  coffee I suspect it's going to change up several times, but all potential snow system have to start somewhere.
