12z NAM keeps frozen precip out of Memphis metro.

12z GFS dumps 1/2" of ZR on the metro -- so, that would likely be lights out for some.

Anyone have the Euro's verdict?

12 NAM is oh so close for freezing rain at KMEM, however KNQA (Millington)is a completely different story:

If this stays as is the metro may be the dividing line between rain and freezing rain and sleet, with more issues the further north one goes.

Those total ZR amounts at NQA are ridiculous   :o

I just saw the Update from WeatherStreet.com
It`s still showing Heavy Snow from Memphis to Jackson to Dyersburg from about 6 A.M. to about 1 P.M.
It will start in Jackson about 9 A.M.
It Let`s up some about Noon then starts again about 6 P.M. to about 10 P.M.
finally ending about 3 A.M. Friday Morning.
I`m sticking with my Projection of about 6 to 8 inches possible here in Bemis - Jackson, Tn.
Here I go again.  On Feb 28 I got a Record Breaking 14 "
I hope I don`t end up getting that much again.
I really miss yesterday`s Record Warmeth
Lo of 63 ° Hi of 82 °  then two days later Another Big Snow Projected.
Tenn`s Weather is going Hay Wire this March.

WWA have gone up for the southern tier of counties in MO. 2 - 4" of snow called for there.

Was I just on another planet for a while or did this come out of no where? Could this seriously be another decent snow for the Jackson area?

Freezing rain much more of a threat for Jackson than snow at this time, maybe some sleet thrown in for good measure unless future models show warmer or colder  runs.

Wow it looks like this just came up. I must look over it a bit now.

YES ! According to WeatherStreet.com.
Memphis National Wether Service was only calling for 2 to 4 Inches for the Feb 28 storm  here in Jackson.
They did have Jackson under a Winter Storm Warning then.
WeatherStreet was the only one that hit it almost perfect.
Will it get it right again.  We will know by tomorrow morning.   ::flag::

Looking at the 12z NAM I see some wetbulbing too. Don't know how much it'll be though, but in these types of events 1-3 degrees makes a good bit of difference.

12z NAM for KBNA looks very similar to KMEM with temps oh so close for freezing rain. A little off towards the colder side and presto, the makings for an ice storm. As of now it really looks like areas just to the north of Memphis, and northwest of Nashville , stand the best chance of frozen precip, barring more model changes. Kevin can add more if this is incorrect.

18z NAM...maybe a tad colder this run? Sure makes all of the difference for Memphis and Nashville proper.
