If it wasn't so close to spring, this thread would've been 10 pages by now!   ::rofl::

I'm guessing no one is expecting much out of this thing.  I know I'm not.  Too many times have I gotten my hopes up.

For Nashville and points south and east from here... there probably isn't a whole lot to hope for anyway.  ;)

Looks like we'll be very near the changeover line as usual.  Clarksville and west from there may get something interesting though.

I just went through the 12z GFS Suface Wetbulb 6hr Precip Overlay and it looks like a boatload of icing for the Memphis area.  I'd like to see the model soundings to see how much is sleet and how much is ZR.  Liquid equivalents appear to be around half an inch, so it might be lights out.

WEATHERSTREET. COM One of my Blog Lists Links has Memphis thru Jackson, Tn. getting hammered with  snow again from about 9 a.m.  to about 2 p.m.  on Thursday.  It may hit Nashville  this time as it moves into Kentucky.
just think yesterday Tuesday  I had a Record Hot Day.  Both a Record Warmest Lo and Hi. 63 °  and 82 ° respectfully.
Then  two days later  Snow.  Maybe up to 6 to 10  inches.    ::flag::

I'd like to petition that all people whom have received significant snowfall this winter be removed from the forum! And further be banned from receiving any more snow.  ::flag::

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN
1031 AM CDT WED MAR 11 2009

.DISCUSSION...

CURRENTLY...COLD FRONT HAS PUSHED WELL SOUTH OF THE FORECAST AREA
AND MUCH COLDER AIR IS FILTERING INTO THE REGION. TEMPS HAVE ALREADY
FALLEN INTO THE UPPER 30S ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER WITH SOME
REPORTS OF SLEET IN PARTS OF NORTHWEST TENNESSEE. FOR THE REST OF
TODAY TEMPS WILL REMAIN STEADY OR SLOWLY FALL AND PRECIPITATION WILL
CONTINUE TO FALL APART ACROSS MOST OF THE MID SOUTH THIS
AFTERNOON. LOOKING AT CURRENT RADAR TRENDS EAST CENTRAL ARKANSAS
STANDS THE BEST CHANCE OF RAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. WILL BE
EVALUATING OVER THE 12Z MODELS OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS FOR
UPDATES TO POTENTIAL WINTER STORM FOR LATE TONIGHT AND THURSDAY
ACROSS MUCH OF THE MID SOUTH.

Does that include those that received sig. ice I had several ice events and only 1 inch of snow. While the ice was pretty there wasn't enough snow for this ::snowman::

No, you'll be fine. Unless, you lost power and used a camping stove to cook bacon. If that is the case you should be banished! :P

Boy, I'm excited with the prospect of some winter wx here.  I love  ::snowman::.  I could do w/o ice though, after losing my 60' hackberry.

12z NAM keeps frozen precip out of Memphis metro.

12z GFS dumps 1/2" of ZR on the metro -- so, that would likely be lights out for some.
