Likely dry.  Everyone in the Nashville MSA should be ready for school/work tomorrow.

42 here and sunny. absolutely NO reason to close any schools around here, even on the mountains, the precip cleared out long before anything wintry could fall.

We honestly have had horrible luck with winter events over the last years. How do you think I feel putting countless hours in model research and forecasting only to be made a fool by old man weather. Where we sit is honestly makes forecasting snow VERY difficult here. Given our recent luck most forecasters ( Mets or Broadcast mets) will play down a event.Given what models showed, IR and overall every tool we have available a WWA was a good call. We just have to ride out each event and take the most from it we can.

I think you did a good job Nashvillewx. The forecasted amounts didn't pan out for one reason... the low pressure moved out of the area quicker than anticipated, which cut off our supply of moisture. The large area of precipitation as it began its eastward trek became more and more narrow, and by the time the cold air filtered in, there was hardly any precipitation left.

It happens.

And Crockett, I disagree that this was a "backside" event. This was an overrunning event, which is typically good for us getting winter weather of some sort. The problem was merely that the front stalled out just a little too far north, keeping us just above freezing even after the low passed by.

Course, we're lucky that it did. I wouldn't want to be dealing with what Paducah and Jonesboro are dealing with now. I was in Memphis in Feb of 94. Massive ice storms destroy the landscape for years, and cause damage and death.

Which makes it a backside event, at least by my definition. It may be easier for me to say that because I'm further east and the low tracked right over me (we were near 60 degrees this morning) whereas it tracked a bit south of you guys in Middle TN. Either way, it was clear that we were going to start off as rain and wait for colder air to move in behind the low.

Good point.  Geography definitely makes a difference.
