W0W! My outside temp. at my house in knoxville is 27.6 ALREADY!! y are temps falling fast??

I'm guessing because it's clear, and we're getting some good radiational cooling.  The drop should slow or stop later with more cloud cover, I would think.  Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see the temps rise some later, since that's been observed further west ahead of the front.

We'll see how all that plays out later.

Well still if yall are below freezing and you even get a little snow to fall to dampen the roads, a few icy spots cold form.

Also, here is my final call on the system unless something dramatic happens.

TS, could we open a Jan. 12 - 13 thread and separate this event (hopefully, an event albeit small one) out?  Susan

I don't care if it is just a dusting.... just as long as somewhere in the hills of Macon County and somewhere is Smith COunty there is enough to close schools!
Just now learning about the weather (other than what I hear on tv)  Please bear with me.

I do not know if we will see anyone get enough to get out of schools tomorrow. Even on the Plateau, I would say school is a bet for everyone tomorrow.

Not sure what the temp is outside, but it has gotten cooler in my house (sitting next to window) and I haven't adjusted anything inside.

I;m sure you are right snowman... but I can dream right?

Maybe.  I've been thinking about when to do that with all these dubious "threats" we've been speculating about.  ;D

It's just been hard to nail any one thing down just yet.  But, I may go ahead and split some of this out to a new thread.

Dream all night. The good thing is, I do not have classes tomorrow because its Tuesday so either way, it does not really matter to me. But I do know alot of students and teachers out there would love to use a snow day. You never know, but chances look extremely slim at this moment.

I was at 32.0 a few minutes ago... I'm at 32.2 now.

nice thread, it needed its own thread since it wont be by no means a classic winter storm event. looking at the latest radar images, looks like west kentucky will see a pretty decent shot of a pretty good band of snow , but nothing major by any means.
