I'm kinda disapointed in this system coming through tonight! The forcast low tonight for knoxville is 28, the cold air is def. in place here but not enough moisture i don't believe we will even see 1inch in knoxville (couple days ago they was forecast 1inch of snow for knoxville, now there saying maybe a dusting)! And nashvilles low  for tonight is 32..so its going to be colder here in knoxville

From the maps nashvillewx just posted...if we were just about 30-45 miles more northward, we would be in a good situation right now. But I am glad that it still has my area getting "some" snowfall amounts even though it is light amounts.

does anybody think there is a possibility of a split flow coming like in week or so. some models are indicating that with plenty of moisture, and more cold coming in the near future. correct me if i am wrong. that could be our best bet for snow. if that occured.

Yes that would be the best route, but I'm going to stay away from long and medium range snow watching. If it is hard to forecast a snow event right up to the wire (like tonights)...how are we really suppose to look at one in detail still over a week away? All of our good TN snowstorms are over a week away...ALWAYS!

From my own experience in watching these things, I've seen precip "blow up" right over us or just to our west, dropping unexpected accumulations.  I'm not saying that will happen tonight.

Agreed!  That's why I never completly count out clippers.

Interesting observation... the local TV stations have reversed their usual stances.  Now, WKRN is probably the least optimistic on snow tomorrow morning.  Lisa Patton says drizzle and maybe flurries in the morning.  But, Channels 4 and 5 are suggesting maybe some light accumulations.

Kids, do your homework tonight.  ;)

We've talked about surprises here.  But, you can't count on them.  This is just a little thing of interest for us to look at and talk about here.

More than likely, there will be nothing on the ground in the morning.  But, we'll keep an eye on it, just the same...

When?  You're not talking about that 348-372 hour range, are you?  :D
