Same here 32.4°. Ice on the cocorahs gauge too.

I hope things warm up later in the afternoon, cause if they don't...the ride home from school today will be tricky.

Skies have abruptly cleared on the west side of Nashville.  It has gone from overcast to sunny, blue skies in the past half hour or so.

FWIW, this is one of the most impressive, cleanest, straightest clearing lines I've ever seen on satellite.

And, no, that's not a satellite picture glitch.  Watch the loop.

Jackson and Overton County Schools are closing early today due to the ice forming on the roads. I'm still wondering how my ride home will be at 3:00...even with the clearing line approaching, Clarksville is only reporting a temp. of 33ºF and so is Camden.

I just got back from picking my daughter up from school.  Left the house under a cloudy sky, not a bit of blue in site, went 5 miles west and not a single cloud over her school.  I was so weird.  The back edge of the cloud line was a bit wispy and that was the end of it.

Wow, just looked at a close up satellite pic of Tennessee.  Looks like someone cut the back edge of the clouds with a pair of scissors.

It was abrupt... I tell you.  I went out for lunch and noticed the sun was suddenly shining.  Looked to the east... and you could see the cut-off of the back edge of the bank of clouds.

Well, still light rain here  ::rain:: and 42 degrees outside.  The rain is hung up on the west side of the mountains with very little making it into North Carolina.  If the cold air catches up with the moisture we, too, may have a problem with some icy roads tonight, especially once that clearing gets here and temps drop like a rock after sunset.   ::panic::

Wow...very impressive.  FWIW, we have clearing at MTSU with a very cold east wind.  Had about thirty minutes worth of light frozen precip before the cloud deck started to break up.

Had some nice sleet and snow mix here in Cookeville between 1 and 2pm. It was nice while it lasted.

Man those counties know how to take advantage of any winter weather situation.  I wish they would give lessons to some of the more stingy county systems.

My cousins would freak if they heard about this. It's going to take a heck of a lot more than the possibility of black ice on roads to get you out of school up there.
