Have you ever considered a Davis VP2? I know they are a lot but they are entirely worth it let me tell you. I've never regretted one second of upgrading from my OS.

I have a Davis on my wish list.  My goal is to have the 968, 2315 and VP2 all on the same pole so people can see an equal conditions comparison.  Maybe I'll be able to afford one next spring.

There's +s and -s to both.  The 2315 is ~$100 and the 968 is ~$200.  The 2315 updates slower, is strictly battery operated, but measures is smaller increments so it's more accurate.  The 968 is solar powered and the sensors are separate so placement is more flexible.  I guess they're like friends, they're different, but I like them both.  :)

But they run the same software (WUHU) and they're on the same pole, so they should  read the same.  You can see the comparison here.  They're the top two on the station list at the bottom of the page:
