It'll be close...I'd say definitely the hottest days this summer.  Still, this summer beats the heck out of last summer in terms of heat.  I'm lovin' the occasional cold fronts that have been able to push through this year... ::applause::

Yeah, even with some hot days, we've had some unusually pleasant days for July also this year.

I'm just thankful that it's raining some, unlike last year.

Certainly looks like Memphis's first 100 degree days are on the way...

Models show 850 temps reaching to between 23 and 25 C by Tuesday along with 500 heights near or above 590dm. This should easily translate to temperatures of around 100, possibly as high as 102 or 103. The one saving grace is soil moisture levels are running about normal, and heights aren't near 600dm, so it shouldn't be a repeat of last summer with 103 to 108 temps for highs. Still, the soil moisture will evapotranspirate enough to keep dewpoints up, so heat advisory criteria will still easily be met, and we're likely to flirt with excessive heat warning criteria a couple of days.

Nashville and Knoxville should be spared from the heat.  ::fingerscrossed::  ::twocents::

That will be some hot weather to come home to.

Figured I'd put this here since "next week" is actually this week.  Maybe some of us will see some wet stuff before the days out:

The wind has picked up a little here. Storm off in Morgan and Scott counties in TN has been Severe T'storm warned and another cell up towards Allen County going into now Barren County looks good too.

It has been overcast most of the day here.  Little shower popped up to the south, but don't know if we'll get any benefit from it.  I've already watered the garden (first time I've had to in a couple of days).  Regardless, ANYTHING that holds off the "Pressing the Century Mark", I'm certainly all for  ::applause::

Still, this year's weather is BY FAR more tol'able than last years ....and you can fry  ::bacon:: on that statement!
