Yes I remember march snowstorm. Every1 was flogging me even though I had every bit of evidence to back up my claim that this looks like it will be our best chance for snow. Even Matt5797 backed me up on it 3 days prior to that event.
Where were they flogging you? It looks like you only registered on this forum in April. Was it on NashvilleWx.com?
What do the top 2 snowiest winters in Nashville's history have in common? Cooler than normal summers. In the summer of 1959 June and July averaged 1 degree cooler than the average temperature for the month. However August was Normal with an average temp of 79º. Nashville went on to record 38.5 inches of snow that winter... In the summer of 1950 the June average temperature was one degree cooler than normal at 75º and July was a whopping 4º cooler than average at 76º. August was 5º cooler than normal. Nashville went on to record 33.5 inches of .
How much snow did you end up with, Cameron?
I think it was like 3.3 inches or so.
Just did a first ten days of July post at my blog...what I've found is that we are running 2.0 degrees below normal!! LOOK OUT WINTER!
Our problem is that we're too close to Al's old home. Look at it; the house is huge. Though a bunch a misleading and lack of evidence I can prove to you all that his house is what has hindered our Tn winters. Funny how he tell us how we should be energy efficient, yet look at his lifestyle I call it the HGA or Hippocratic Gore Affect.
Another interesting note is 1950-1951 went down as the 2nd snowiest winter at Nashville on Record. Could this mean our winter this year will be cold and snowy.
I am not sure, I will have to look that up. We only recieved 3.0 inches of snow that year though.
The winter of 1959-1960... we only received 3.0 inches of snow??Can you check that again?I believe that winter still stands as the snowiest winter on record in Nashville.http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ohx/climate/monthsnw.htmTry 38.5 inches.
