I have learned not to post anti-snow kind of messages during an impending snowstorm.  I almost got run out of here the other night.  ;D

I think you jinxed me. ;D

Since I stumbled onto this forum about two months ago, I have learned more about weather than I did in the past thirty years.  I'ms still pretty ignorant, but at least now I know what I am ignorant about. ;)

I'm looking forward to learning as much about severe weather as I have about snow.

I'm starting to use weather examples in my classes now... so I'm converting small groups of math weenies into weather weenies.  Maybe that'll get us a model someday that won't taunt us so. ;D

The humor ain't bad, either.  Thanks for being here, guys!

I have learned that in Tennessee we can have tornadoes in the middle of winter, followed by snow a few weeks later.
I have learned that people must eat nothing but french toast when there is a snow threat since all the bread, eggs, and milk are gone at Kroger.
I have kinda sorta learned how to read models, and I have learned I have pretty darn good intuition when it comes to weather.

I've learned that when this place gets ta rockin', we can't keep enough b***n in the servin' troughs.  Quite honestly, after this latest episode, I've learned to NOT like bacon.  Blasphemy, yes.  Never worry, mind you.  Just like riding a bike, the true yearning never leaves you.

I think I have learned a healthier attitude toward handling winter weather expectations and disappointment.  It's such a shot in the dark, and everything has to fall into place perfectly.  I've learned to look at the chances scientifically without getting too excited about it, and when things are not going our way to just let it go... and, when things do appear to be going our way to be cautiously skeptical.

Also, my suspicion about the most favorable storm track has been confirmed... we need the Lows to come at us out of Red River Valley of OK and TX and then through the Arklatex region and move across northern/central MS and AL to our south, keeping us on the cold, snowy side of the system.

Agreed Thundersnow...the track last weekend wasnt great for those of us in the Nashville area.  I've also learned everything has to fall into play perfectly for Nashville to get a good snow these days.

Also, snow in March doesnt last long.

Good call by Clarence the day of, noticing the dry air entraining into the system.  That turned out to be very problematic for the middle tn area.

Thanks Snowdog.  It sure wasn't popular the other day though.  Had it all held together, we all would have seen another 3 or 4 inches.  It was still nice though.

I have learned never to bet snowfall accumulations for the airport... my wallet is $5 lighter today...

I bet $5 the airport would measure at least 1" of snow and they only got .6"

I've learned that I tend to forget the "little" snows that occur during a winter.  I went back and looked at all the photos I have taken since Christmas and was surprised to find 4 separate times I had photos of accumulating snow.  Only the last one was more than 1/2", though.
