Just got a call from West Tennessee, they said the snow is melting.

Yeah, it tends to do that.  For those who want to be "snowed in" (me not included), around here you need a snow like this before mid-February.  By March the sun's angle is getting pretty high.

Funny thing with me and snow- I am fascinated by watching the models and forecasts, and I enjoy watching it fall and seeing it from outside my window.  My enthusiasm starts to wain after I have been trudging around in the cold for anything more than about 30 minutes.  And I am usually ready for it to melt away and get things back to normal within a day.  I really get sick of it when it sticks around for 3-4 days and everything refreezes hard as a rock at night.

I was thinking "Few inches of Bliss"....then I googled it, and decided that maybe we should't go in that direction.

LOL!  ;D

Its the march sun.  I dont understand why the nws says "not much melting today with temps in the 20's" in their discussion.  Why do they not take into the account of the sun angle.  Last wednesday we had almost 2 inches here and as soon as the sun came out it was gone in a blink of the eye.  Of course that was a more powdery snow.  If this was January there would be no melting today.

And btw the way It looks like I got about 3 inches here in H-ville.  Kind of hard to tell though its blown around alot.

The sun's trying to shine here, and I see some blue sky.  I did another measurement since early this morning.  Looks like we received 5 inches in Ridgetop.

So it is going to warm up now and no more chances for snow for the rest of the season?

I got 5.5 average some areas 5 some 6to 7 but 5.5 I averaged it because of the drifting occuring our snow is over but it is def still there i had snow ice cream and I def had to make a snow angel and write over the snow bad thing i took picutres but they may not be developed for awhile but I will put them on my blogpsot or somethign for my main pic for archive purposes.  And in my senior group of pics.

well it did finally stop raining. it actually snowed quite hard for a few hours but it refused to stick to anything. now its 32.0 and sunny with some patches of leftover snow at the bases of trees and a bit on my back porch. thats it. okay who's ready for next winter?

Well, I for one feel a little shafted.  Although, it is my fault, I let my hopes build up for that 3" to 5" and I shouldn't have.

Really glad we got of school early yesterday.  :)  It is beautiful see outside on the ground too.

I got snowholed all night. Barely got over an inch at my house near OHX.

At least my forecast seems to have verified with predictions on Wednesday of 3" for BNA, 5" MEM with MEM apparently seeing slightly higher amounts than forecast.

The snowhole I was in was a mixed blessing. I was able to get out this morning and take my Amateur Radio Technician exam. So I now have my Tech ticket. :)

Congrats on the snow everyone. I'm sure my kids will be dragging the sled I bought for them yesterday around the muddy backyard. :(
