Doesn't look like there's going to be cold enough air around to see anything significant, IMO.  That could change, though.

Wow, that is a HUGE swing in a 24-36 hour period.  From cold and snow to a nice warm rain. 

I hate strong La Nina's.  I hope I never see one again for as long as I live.

In my experience, we don't fare that much better with an El Nino, maybe even worse (as far as wintry weather goes).

It seems we do best with something between neutral and a slight La Nina.  But, then again, there is so much variability in winter data around here that it's hard to be conclusive.

Let's see... Nashville has had no major snow threat in the forecast, there have been no ice storms, and BNA has only recorded a trace amount of frozen precip this winter (.3" at my house). Can you fare much worst than we are right now in terms of winter weather?
